Hi parish family! It’s Angel, Fr. John’s companion and, as I like to think about it, his “boss”. My dad’s been a bit busy working with everyone to make sure that everything is ready for this week, so I told him that I would put together a little something for this week’s bulletin to help him out.
These last weeks of Lent & Holy Week are a busy time of the year. As we draw to the end of the Lenten season & enter into the holiest days of the Church year there is a lot of planning and preparation to be done, there are details that need to be figured out, homilies to be written, and questions to be answered.
St. Patrick’s recently celebrated its 175th anniversary. Very few things, especially in Cleveland, Ohio, have a history of 175 years, but St. Pat’s does. St. Pat’s has had a number of starts and stops and has several evolutions in its history. The following touches upon some of those stories of its history:
Happy Anniversary! What a joy it is as we kickoff the celebration of our parish’s 175th year of being St. Patrick’s West Park Alive in Christ. Anniversaries are a time to look back to where we’ve been, to celebrate where we are, and to look forward to where we hope to go.
How long does it take you to get ready? Most of us have a routine before we go out, especially first thing in the morning. We may brush our teeth, comb our hair, and change our clothes to make ourselves presentable. From the time we get out of bed until the time we walk out the door, we undergo a transfiguration of sorts. We don’t want just anyone to see us before we transfigure. But, that’s exactly who God wants to see in prayer.
