In 1982 Fr. Banner asked 3 young men from our school to help him build shelves in the basement of the Rectory to hold groceries for those who were coming to the Rectory looking for food. That was the beginning of the St. Patrick Hunger Center! The need grew and over the past 39 years so has our Hunger Center. The Center moved to 4 different locations on our Parish property getting bigger and better equipped to handle the growing need.
One day about a week ago, after daily Mass, a parishioner stopped me with a question, why do we put a part of the host in the chalice at Mass? It’s a good question and one that I thought more than just 1 parishioner might be wondering about so I thought that I would answer the question here.
