Next week we begin Holy Week. In Holy Week, we enter into the holiest week of the Church. Our Lenten journey culminates in the events that we celebrate & remember this week, the passion, death, & resurrection of our Lord. I invite & encourage all of us to make this week a holy week in both name & action.
As we walk the way of Holy Week, I’d invite you to consider joining us for either the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday (7 pm), Stations of the Cross (Noon) & the celebration of the Lord’s Passion (3 pm) on Good Friday, the Blessing of the Easter Foods (Noon) or the Easter Vigil (8:30 pm) on Holy Saturday night, or Mass on Easter Sunday morning. With the lessening of the pandemic, we’ll be able to return to some of the aspects of our Holy Week celebrations that we’ve had to put on hold, such as the Washing of the Feet on Holy Thursday.
If you are able, please consider joining together for all/any of these celebrations. They are some of the most moving celebrations of the entire Church year. If you are unable to join us in person for any of these events, we might consider spending
some time in prayerful reflection upon the gospels of these particular days, praying the Stations of the Cross, spending some time in prayer with the crucifix, or some other prayer or devotion that sets this week apart for us.
Together let us journey with Jesus this week, entering into the events of this week, & come to rise to new life with Him at Easter!
